Once again it has come to our attention that there is some 13 stepping/unwanted correspondance going on in the chat rooms of the Realm.
Must we remind you there are a number of safety tools you have and the Realm has implemented for your safety.
1-Personal Responsibility: Some people are too trusting and naive when it comes to personal information. Most share information that they would never give someone they met casually offline. Would you tell the person standing next to you in the grocery store check-out line your address and phone number? Of course not, so DO NOT do it in a chat room.
2-Use the RedLine tool: If a chatter is PCing you with unwanted or inappropriate conversation USE the RED LINE tool. This will block any correspondance coming from the chatter in question.
3-Tell a Moderator/Monitor: These are the chatters whose names appear in red.
4-Inform the Realm Administration: If we are not emailed about a problem we can not address it. Telling your problem to another chatter expecting them to intervene isnot fair to them or to you.
The First line of defence starts with you so combat cyberstalkers, surf safely, and chat with caution. Don't park your common sense at the computer when you get online.
If you believe you are being CyberStalked, then you need help from an organization such as CyberAngels. Visit their website (http://www.cyberangels.org/) and send them an email, or write to them directly at Cyber911@cyberangels.org . |
