Just wanted to drop a quick line.........Not working here either!

Sorry for the scare intro....but I wanted to avoid people reading the first line and dismissing it...

Did it work?

Ringo, Ringo....I got home from work this afternoon and didn't log on right away to check emails, vms and as always...for at least the last 21 days...RR.

I saw your post and it made me literally push my chair away from my desk and pace my office.  Honestly, it made me really sad.

I've been working on and revising a topic and response in addition to what  the others have already posted.  As I was sitting here, I started scanning some of the posts.  Specifically looking for some of the things you shared and thinking how encouraging they have been to me, and then I realized low and behold.....Your post count is now at 0.  I sure hope you are still scanning the site!

All I guess I want to add is, you are right.  There is a ton of information and things that seem like we must accomplish immediately in order to fix ourselves yesterday.  As others have said, you've done something right.  If your desire was to stop drinking, You Did It!

Take a break from the input of information, your hard drive may need a little time out.    Apply and try to practice some of the information you have recently gleened and enjoy the things in life that you said you enjoyed but put on the back burner to practice sobriety.  Nightly swimming sounds like a blast. DO IT..Although I have to admiit, Sober swimming sounds a lot safer though to me

Yes this is a process, or rather, I like to think of it as a journey.  However, this journey has been taken by hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of people, and not a single one has used the exact same path.  But, all of them had the same destination.  Sobriety!  You've found a path, follow it.  And if you want to, hopefully you can take a detour and visit RR.  We miss you!

smiles and hugs

Julie

There are 2 ways to search for a topic or user.

  1. Click the Text  Members ( on the top and to the left of the forums) to look for the posted topics of that user.
  2. If the Member has unregistered you can try to click on the text Search ( on the top and to the left of the forums) and type in the members name.

Whenever I did something that I thought was going to be good for me, it turned out to be bad for me. Whenever I did something that I thought was going to be bad for me it turned out to be good for me.

I know; “If I think something is a good idea ….odds are it isn’t .” So it’s always a good idea for me to get a second opinion. And a third and a fourth…..

I also know I didn’t get sober so I could spend the rest of my life going to meetings constantly. I maintain a contact so I can live well the rest of the time. But I do know that finding balance ( as well as everything else) was difficult in early sobriety.

I also had to “learn” how to ask for help!!!! (Ugh! another thing on the list)

With 41 “back to back” sober days, Ringo received exactly what he was offered…..help staying sober a day at a time. You don’t have to look any further than the mirror to find the proof that this works. It really does.

We will show you the path, but you have to do the walking.
The secret is to remain teachable

If you want ten years of sobriety, the only way to get it is to stay sober for ten years.
Come along with us, and we’ll “show” you what we do, to live happy and purposeful lives

The important thing this is that you know where we are. If there is ever a time you need us, you will know where to look.
