O'siyo everyone,

I'm really having to practice patience today.  As some of you may already know, I received a call from the Adoption Disclosure Agency in Toronto.  Over 3 years ago, I sent in my forms and questionnaire for them to start doing a search for me (birth mom and/or birth father).  The lady on the other end of the phone said that she had some good news for me - my birth mother has also been searching for me and wants to meet me!!!!!!

I was so shocked, I couldn't think, couldn't speak, I'm not even sure if I was feeling at that particular moment....then I asked her to repeat what she had said......she did.....i started bawling.

The lady from the agency e-mailed me a consent to disclose form, which I printed off immediately, signed it, got it witness, then faxed it back to her.  She said she would probably be giving my birth mother a call today to give her my contact information.  She also said that she would let me know when she has done that.

Well.........this is where patience comes in, or lack there of.  I've been home all day, except for one outing I had to make.  Haven't heard from either of them - and I never really expected to hear anything to, but in some ways I was (does that make sense?).

So, I'm having to practice patience - which is what I had put on my 10 year medallion....some things will never change!

Miigwetch for listening me ramble on.

It makes sense to me. If I were in your shoes I would probably be biting my nails, pacing the floors and feeling the same way. I am sure you will hear something soon. I am so glad that you are going to be able to be put in contact with her. Let us know when you hear something else and how it is going. I am really excited for you!

OMG! I am so excited for you! I am praying the reunion will be wonderful and just what you want ! I am sure your birth mother is just as excited and probably afraid at the same time of what you will think of her. I know this will be a Big thing for both of you . My brother is adopted into our family at birth, but I don't know why has never been interested in searching out his birth parents - I know I would be - even if just for curiosity's sake. God Bless You Ma'iinganikwe! xoxoxoox Janni

That is wonderful!!!!! My lil brother and sis were adopted, but we know who the birth parents are. I think it is important that you know all about who you are and where you came from.  So good for you!!!!! Hope all works out wonderfully.
love and extra big hugs,
chelle
