Just wanted to post some titles of books that have helped alot of people, some I have read and some were mentioned to me by others.

Homecoming : Reclaiming and Championing Your Inner Child ( John Bradshaw)

This book focuses on our original pain and grieving for our wounded inner child at different developement stages in our life from infancy to adolescence. It consists of writting assignments & meditations. It's not just a book to read, it's a book to do!

Adult Children of Alcoholics - Janet G. Woititz

Life Skills fo Adult Children - Janet G. Woititz

Struggle for Intimacy - Janet G. Woititz

Emotional Healing : A program for emotional recovery - Karen Paine-Gernee and Terry Hunt

Explains the world of ACOA (pre and post childhood) and most importantly steps toward emotional recovery

Adult Children: The secrets of Dysfunctional families - John & Linda Friel

A Time to Heal- The Road to Recovery for ACOA- Timmon L. Cermak

Healing the Shame that Binds You - John Bradshaw

The Power of Now - Eckhart Tolle there is also a workbook out for this too.

The book seems to help those that have a tendency to over-think life and over-identitfy with one's mind at the expense of other ways of being.

If you have any that you felt helped you , please feel free to share them with us.

Thanks Clanmama. Quite a while ago I read a book called "It Will Never Happen to Me" by Claudia Black that was excellent. It explains the roles you take on as a child in a dysfunctional family, and why they don't work as adults.
Love,
vkathy
