Hello to everyone.  Just introducing myself and hoping to start my recovery here.  I live in a place where there are several face to face meetings but even though i know its foolish I am scared to go and say I am coming back "again" 

Hello hjifhope ~ and welcome to this site and back to recovery.

At my homegroup, there are quite a number of folks who have "come back" many many times; I have never seen anyone roll their eyes or scoff at them. 

There's no shame in falling down; the shame is in not getting back up again. 

And remember, being a newcomer helps others in the rooms.  You never know who your story may help.

Today I went to my first face to face AA meeting. I was very scared and unassured.

But I have to say, I am going back tomorrow night. I'm not sure if it is going to help me, I listened to other people's stories and found comfort knowing that I am NOT alone.

After the meeting was over, everyone came over and welcomed me personally. I felt so overwhelmed by their kindness I started to cry. I came home with a newcomers packet with about 20 phone numbers. They told me I could call any one of them 24/7 if i needed to talk and wanted a sponsor.

I am still nervous about tomorrow, but I do relieved in a way.
