I pray to forgive those who held me up to a distorted mirror.
Days Of Healing Days Of Joy.........
It is unfair, one of the worst forms of injustice, to be penalized for s'thing beyond our control. Especially when the people being punished are children.
Many boys have struggled to meet their parents expectations of masculinity no matter how unrealistic or insensitive.
Many girls are not taken seriously because of their sex. As children we all wanted to be appreciated for what we were & to have our value recognized. Perhaps that acceptance never came.
We may have envied the dreamlike relationships some of our friends seemed to have with their parents.
We saw the trusting look in our friends eyes when their fathers were around or we heard their mothers praising their school projects. We dreamed their situationw as like theirs.
We pretended lied & built our own fantasies.
But we knew it wasn't so.
Now irrational rejection is seen for what it was~ a form of insanity.
We no longer LOOK for affirmation from those who are emotionally disabled.
We look to each other~recovering men & women ~ for an accurate reflection of our worth.
