Here’s a little story about prayer, faith and action….

An older man was caught in a horrendous flood, water was up to his house when a boat came along and said “hop in we’ll take you to safety.” The old man said “oh no, I have faith that god will take care of me, I pray”, so the boat passed.

Later as the water came up higher another boat came along inviting the same “hop in we’ll take you to safety.” the man said “ no I believe that god will save me from this flood, after all I’ve followed him all my life and I pray.”

The water continued to rise as he crawled to the roof of the house. There he prayed and prayed asking god to save him from this flood. Just then a helicopter dropped down a line and said “come on up we’ll save you from this flood.” A little hesitant the old man once again said “no I have faith, GOD will save me from this flood.”

As expected the old man drowned, seeing god he was really pissed, he said, “here I’ve followed you all my life and even after I prayed and prayed you let me drown”

God chucked and said, “I know you are a praying man and faithful at that, but hey to save you I sent two boats and a helicopter, why didn’t you put your faith into action!”
