Even on days when life has thrown us a curve ball there are things in our lives that we can be grateful for.
Lets come to this thread everyday and look into our lives and share what it is we are grateful for.

Lets try to post one thing each day.

Remember it doesnt matter how small or big it maybe,
It is what you feel in your heart that matters.

I feel totally refreshed reading these threads this evening...I am grateful for my grandson who never ceases to put a smile on my face and in my heart. I love his grape lips tonight and his sparkling eyes as he looks for the moon...I would not see all that or remember all that if I was drunk. and for that i am also grateful for another day of sobriety. and for this new fellowship with all of you...you are all helping me through my journey in recovery...love you all

After 6 weeks without it, (remodeling) I am grateful to have my kitchen sink back, working, and draining (down the drain and not into the cabinets)! I never thought I'd be happy to be able to wash dishes...

I am grateful that because of this program and the fellowship I was able to be a real father to my sons (and all the other kids who have called me Dad over the years). To know that I was able to be a positive force in their lives is a gift beyond anything I could have immagined when I first sobered up.

Some of the greatest gifts of the program are not what you get but what you can give.

Today I am grateful for car with good brakes and decent tires... I hope the person who pulled out infront of me on a wet road is grateful for that as well.

Funny thing if I was driving the car that was stolen last month, I do not know I would have been able to stop in time.

What am I grateful for?

Today it is Kameron.

When he was 8 or so he was a little pain in the butt who would not go away. He had some 'troubles' at home so the Mrs. and I let him 'adopt us'.

Now he is 12. He's been by my side through many home remodeling projects and is now my right hand. I do not know how I would have accomplished half of the work I got done this weekend (or many other weekends) without him.

In the mean time it is neat watching the Little 'twiget' growing into a young man.

Funny how by giving we often get.

I am gratful for friends who are kind enough to point out that today I am 49 (not 48 like I was saying last night) without wise cracks about neither math nor memory improving with the years.

I'm also grateful for this program because without it I would not have made it this long.

Thank you family.

I am grateful for the love of the fellowship that has paved the road through my recovery. Without the acceptance from you all i may not have kept coming back. With you I do not ever have to feel alone in this world again. I put that gratitude into action..... gratitude is an action word. And I can now share that love.

Today, I went to a f2f meeting and a woman shared that her husband came home from a trip to Napa Valley with 4 cases of wine, which he has decided to store in the garage.  She also shared that he complains that she spends too much time at AA meetings.

I am grateful that my husband has been my greatest support in getting and staying sober, and that he understands that my sobriety must come first.

THANKS, CHUCK!!!

Today I'm grateful for:

The folk that were at the meeting last night who helped me through a rough spot.

Carol's great share above to help me see a few things.

and, especially grateful for Rue, my wife and life partner, because she is often more than reasonably patient with me even when I am not being patient with her.
