LOVE NEVER FAILS

THE best way out of any situation is always the kindest way.  Love succeeds where everything else fails.  The soft answer disarms an enemy where the bitter word increases animosity. Coals of fire have a healing effect when vengeful blows fail utterly.  You can smile yourself out of difficulities you can never fight your way through; you can dismmiss your difficulties with laughter when you cannot rout them with arguement.  No one can resist the friendly soul.  Love disarms the critic and humilty overpowers the boastful. The man who is honest and truthful can afford to wait for his vindication, "Love never faileth".

I liked this lil reading today, altho I must admit, I didnt really get some of the old timey words, lol. What hit home the most was the titile. Cuz LOVE NEVER FAILS.........Today my sons and I are going through something regarding my grandchildren. Today I needed to read this. I have came to realize that the 'soft answer turns away anger". Today in the face of my advesaries, and yes, we do have them, sometimes we don't even know we do.......Let me find grace and humilty to deal with today. To be calm and remain kind. Today help me to remember dealing with others in addictive behavior who are still using causes chaos. Sometimes I get dragged into it. I did not chose to, it happened. This disease is a FAMILY disease, affecting many family members. Help me today to remember that I am not alone, God you are with me. I have a Program that has taught me how to deal with people who are not well and may never be.

There was a time in my life, newly sober, when I would lock and load, and not all that new either I still carried the lock and load mentality. Today Thru God, AA, The Steps, My Sponsor and EACH OF YOU, I am learning to disengage. It is not all about me. Altho sometimes I do not get the choice to pick my battles, sometimes, battles happen as a result of one who is not well. Let me have compassion, let me remember my last drunk, let me recall my last high, let me recall how un well I was. Let me not beat up on me today and having let go of my past vengeful ways, let me trudge on to the peace of My Creator. For in doing that, I am accountable to Him and to others.
