I refer to this often -- it came from the West Baltimore AA Group website:

1. Conscious Contact

(a) Did I start my day with a conscious contact with God as I understand Him?

(b) Did I start my day with "Please"?

(c) Did I start my day asking for sobriety and guidance?

2. Did I try to be pleasant to everyone?

3. Did I go out of my way to be kind or to do a good deed for someone?

4. Did I demonstrate gratitude in my life?

5. Did I totally reject resentment?

6. Did I resist the "PLOMS"? (Poor Little Old Me)

7. Did I indulge in _______________? (Your favorite character defect)

8. Did I resist the temptation to gossip or criticize?

9. Did I have an A.A. contact today?

10. Did I renew at any time during the day my conscious contact with God as I understand Him? {A quiet time, a        meditation break)

11. Will I close my day with "Thanks"?

12. Fill in your own or another person's favorite daily aid to sobriety.

Be the change you wish to see in the world ...Gandhi

Living the ProgramThis is NA Fellowship-approved literature. Copyright © 1983 byNarcotics Anonymous World Services, Inc. All rights reserved. What Worked for Us: NA Daily JournalThe purpose of this daily inventory is to keep track of who we are and what we are doing today. Try to answer every question, every day. Keep your answers as simple and as honestas you can. If you miss a day, do not make it up later. Limit your answers and concerns to the past twenty-four hours and complete the questions at the end of the day. If you wish to share some of this journal, we suggest that you do so verbally. Remember that a daily inventory is not a test; there are no right or wrong answers. Do not get upset if you could have done better or if you fail to live up to yourexpectations of yourself. Remember, this is a program of growth and recovery and ifyou are clean today, you are doing something right. Just for today, my thoughts will be on my recovery, living and enjoying life without the use of drugs.Am I clean today? _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________How have I acted differently? _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Did my disease run my life today? _______________________________________________If so, how?______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________What did I do today that I wish I had not done? ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________What have I left undone that I wish I had done? ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

This step is very important for me to work each day.  I pray more often in the A.M. than I used to however most nights at a minimum I say "Thank You" to the Higher Power that lets me live a sober life.  Throughout the day I find it very helpful to stop and remember that I am not the Higher Power and that I am not in control.  Although sometimes He lets me think I am.  This helps me to focus on what is really important in my life and accept what is going on in my life today.

I really like the lists you folks posted.  Thank You!!  These are good point to work on throughout the day.  Acceptance is one of the things I need to practice. Although it is difficult at times it is becoming easier.  It's Good to be sober!!!

these are the directions for the 10th step taken from the big book of AA
This thought brings us to Step Ten, which suggests we continue to take personal inventory and continue to set right any new mistakes as we go along. We vigorously commenced this way of living as we cleaned up the past. We have entered the world of the Spirit. Our next function is to grow in understanding and effectiveness. This is not an overnight matter. It should continue for our lifetime. Continue to watch for selfishness, dishonesty, resentment, and fear. When these crop up, we ask God at once to remove them. We discuss them with someone immediately and make amends quickly if we have harmed anyone. Then we resolutely turn our thoughts to someone we can help. Love and tolerance of others is our code. The other questions you guys are asking I have no exp with but in my exp when I follow the directions i posted above I get these results
And we have ceased fighting anything or anyone, even alcohol. For by this time sanity will have returned. We will seldom be interested in liquor. If tempted, we recoil from it as from a hot flame. We react sanely and normally, and we will find that this has happened automatically. We will see that our new attitude toward liquor has been given us without any thought or effort on our part. It just comes! That is the miracle of it. We are not fighting it, neither are we avoiding temptation. We feel as though we had been placed in a position of neutrality safe and protected. We have not even sworn off. Instead, the problem has been removed. It does not exist for us. We are neither cocky nor are we afraid. That is how we react so long as we keep in fit spiritual condition
See right here are the 10th step promises. God actually removes my alcoholism so I wont have to drink anymore the obsession gets removed. I hope this helps

This is a handy tool but somehow the idea that the 10th step is something I do at night crept in. That nightly check is a part of the 11th (BB pg 86) "When we retire we review our day. Were we resentful, selfish, dishonest or afraid? Do we owe and apology? Have we kept something to ourselves that we should have discussed with another person? (IMHO I read sponsor here personally) Were we kind and loving to all? What could we have done better? Were we thinking of ourselves most of the time? Or were we thinking of what we could do for others, of what we could pack into the stream of life?" It goes on and is a very worthwhile read. (pick a page that is not).

If we pay closer attention to the 10th step it very much about living in the NOW and watching what we are doing in this moment. When done right it prevents me from taking a small mistake and turning it into a full blown nightmare. It gives me the tool to turn around any moment of my life.
